A Woman's right to choose

Women's rights arguments in favour of abortion

  1. Woman have a right to decide what to do with their bodies
  2. You can’t have gender equality without the right to have an abortion
  3. Banning abortion puts woman at risk by forcing them to use illegal abortionists
  4. The right to an abortion should be part of a group of pregnancy rights that allows woman to have a free informed choice to end a pregnancy

But isn't suffering a part of it?

Comment by Stephen on February 12, 2020 at 15:05

Do these religious types really understand what suffering these women go through

Comment by Mrs.B on February 12, 2020 at 14:48

Yes, do any of this lot understand what ''personal, or privacy'' even means?

I wonder the same thing Mrs.B
From what I can gather in Aboriginal society there is men's Business and women's business and the there is everybody's business.
Men had no say in what women do with their bodies as that is women's business.
There are sites that men cannot go anywhere near as that was the Women's sacred site where they did their womanly ceremonies.

NI's abortion law breaches human rights commitments - court says.

Northern Ireland's strict abortion law breaches the UK's human rights commitments, the High Court in Belfast has ruled.
Abortion is illegal in Northern Ireland unless there is a direct threat to the mother's life.
It means women have to travel to Great Britain for the procedure to avoid breaking the law.
Sarah Ewart was refused a termination in 2013 and had to make that journey after being told her baby had a fatal defect.
The 29-year-old travelled to a London clinic to end her pregnancy after doctors said her unborn child would die in the womb or shortly after birth.
Mrs Justice Siobhan Keegan, who heard the case, said: "In my view her personal testimony is compelling."
The judge followed the ruling of the Supreme Court that abortion law in Northern Ireland was incompatible with Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
She said Ms Ewart had been affected by the current law and had a legal standing to challenge it.
The judge said: "She has had to modify her behaviour in that she could not have medical treatment in Northern Ireland due to the risk of criminal prosecution.
"She may be actively affected in the future.
"In my view her personal testimony is not disputed."

I dont think any women subjected to any religious dogma have independence.

Is that their fault?  I would say no though it't families  fault and the culture that allows it.

When I was 15, & visiting grandparents in Alberta, I kind of hung around with another girl close to my age. Her mother had just had baby number 17, & I knew right then & there, that was NEVER going to be my life!!!

My own mother had 9 miscarriages, before surgery removed her fallopian tubes, & one ovary.

Thanks, Mrs B how anyone could imagine that Mormon women are anything but serfs to their husbands is beyond me.
