A Woman's right to choose

Women's rights arguments in favour of abortion

  1. Woman have a right to decide what to do with their bodies
  2. You can’t have gender equality without the right to have an abortion
  3. Banning abortion puts woman at risk by forcing them to use illegal abortionists
  4. The right to an abortion should be part of a group of pregnancy rights that allows woman to have a free informed choice to end a pregnancy

Yet another piece I wrote a LONG time ago, but considering the current attacks on a woman's right to control her own body, I think the relevance of the following still maintains.  Let me know what…Continue

Abortion rates go down when countries make it legal: report

Countries with stricter abortion laws have higher abortion rates

Abortion rates have fallen over the past 25 years, even as more countries have made the procedure legal and easier to get, according to a new report released Tuesday.
Countries with the most restrictive abortion laws also have the highest rates of abortion, the study by the Guttmacher Institute found. Easier access to birth control drives down abortion rates, the report also finds.

Idaho House passes unscientific and unethical anti-abortion bill

The bill is just one signature away from becoming law.

The Idaho House on Monday passed an anti-abortion measure that is based on shoddy and unscientific research, aiming to place yet another barrier between women and gender minorities who seek abortions.
SB 1243 would require the state Department of Health and Welfare to provide individuals seeking abortions with information about reversing a medication-induced abortion. It would also require the agency to publish information on its website about the reversal procedure, which according to Planned Parenthood, has “no basis in science.”

My daughter chose the life when she married the religious fanatic.

My daughter has 5 kids, & every pregnancy was difficult. 3 by caesarean. She only stopped I'm sure because her dr said so.

Her sister-in-law has 7, & everyone of them were very premature & all have health issues.....but the churchites dictate their lives ya know!

Mississippi Has Passed a 15-Week Abortion Ban, the Country’s Most Severe Restriction

Mississippi is poised to enact the country’s most severe abortion restriction, a ban on abortions performed 15 weeks or more after the first day of a woman’s last menstrual period, or 13 weeks post-fertilization. On Thursday, the Mississippi House approved the bill 75–34, two days after the Senate passed it 35–14. The bill now heads to the desk of Republican Gov. Phil Bryant, who has said he is excited to sign it.
“I want Mississippi to be the safest place in America for an unborn child,” he tweeted on Tuesday. “House Bill 1510 will help us achieve that goal.”

Richard Dawkins
24 Oct 2017

I had tweeted an invitation to attend lectures in various parts of Britain by Saba Douglas-Hamilton, who grew up among wild African elephants while her father, Iain Douglas-Hamilton was conducting his pioneering studies of their ecology and behaviour, and he and his wife Oria were fighting the poachers. Saba’s series of lectures is in aid of Save the Elephants, the charity founded by Iain, devoted to saving these magnificent animals from extinction (https://sabadouglashamilton.com). Among the responses to my tweet, the following two caught my attention, partly because of their irrelevance

Thinking about it more  I think you should record the catcalls and oogling to turn over to a local news agency. You may be able to receive a fee as an independent journalist.

Doing that may slam all contractors into behaving better.
