Watch out for your head

indeed in world of religion you need to Watch out for your head and of course your hands, foots (Perhaps part of your genitals, just saying lol!)  from being cut "legally, by the force of law!".

nowdays in Kuwait if someone insulted God or Muhammad or his wives he/she Will face the death penalty.

Kuwait MPs okay death penalty for cursing God
Thursday 12 Apr 2012Kuwait's parliament on Thursday provisionally passed amendments to the Gulf state's penal code stipulating the death penalty for those who curse God, Islam's Prophet Mohammed or his wives.

Forty-six MPs, including cabinet ministers, voted for the key amendments that will come into effect only after another round of voting and government approval. The second and final vote will take place in two weeks.

Four Shiite MPs voted against the law, a Sunni lawmaker abstained, while two MPs refused to vote.

Shiite MPs have demanded that the new amendments also enforce the death penalty for anyone who curses their sect's 12 revered Imams, but the Sunni- dominated parliament rejected their requests.

The move to stiffen penalties for religious crimes came after authorities last month arrested a Shiite tweeter for allegedly cursing the Prophet Mohammed, his wife and some companions.

The suspect, Hamad Al-Naqi, is being detained pending further interrogation and trial.

Sectarian tensions have flared in Kuwait between the Sunni majority and Shiites, who form about a third of the native population of 1.17 million, reflecting rising regional tensions between the two Islamic sects.

Democracy requires properly educated people that can think for themselves and that is why fanatical religions don't like democracy. Free thinkers tend not to be led by the nose as easily as people that are not educated to be free thinkers.

From what I am lead to believe is that when they go to the mosque the preacher besides saying religious claptrap they also comment on political themes. You can be sure that they also demonise democracy because they feel threatened by the fact people will begin to see behind the lies that they tell.

That goes for fanatical christian preachers as well!

I totally agree with you.

same here...

I totally agree with Davy also!

What does it mean properly educated?
Some of them have a a high degree from UK universities, then nothing but religious nonsense.

The Kuwaiti society probably forces them into hypocrisy. Or they were already accomplished hypocrites when they got to the UK in the first place, like faking modernity.

In any case, I think that "proper" education means the development of critical thinking in parallel with knowledge acquisition. It's not really a curriculum item, so it just may or may not happen.
