Should Governments regulate fraudulent religions?
Fraud is a broad term that refers to a variety of offenses involving dishonesty or "fraudulent acts". In essence, fraud is the intentional deception of a person or entity by another made for monetary or personal gain. Fraud offenses always include some sort of false statement, misrepresentation, or deceitful conduct.
Most governments and countries have fraud laws of some kinds. They generally interfere with religious fraudsters only when physical harm is being done to our gullible citizens yet ignore the monetary theft that the fraudsters fleece from their victims. Prosperity ministries are the most flagrant of these immoral religions, but all religions based on demonstrable lies would be included in this question.
Our governments are quite good at acting against obvious fraudsters yet seem reluctant to protect our more gullible citizens when it comes down to religions.
Religions, to me, get a free pass to lie and steal all they can from victims, especially the older citizens even when governments know about the fraud.
I begin to see the inaction of governments on these religious fraudsters as a dereliction of duty.
You know more about this than I.
I'm sort of a curious onlooker with an outspokem voice, which of course makes some people angry.
The Greek Orthodox celebrated Easter this past weekend, rather then the previous weekend.
(Sarcastically) - off with their heads.
Unfortunately some still care about that nonsense.
If one read the pages linked above, one will know that Cunha is pentecostal and used religion as a political front, which is the fraud. U.S. pentecostalism links to the Clinton mafia, so the mention of Bill Clinton in this thread does not go far enough. To fine-tune the geography of religion's pedophilia, one may focus on examples of Schossau in Michigan. We know of one Clinton mafia link fifty miles south of Schossau's operations that link pentecostalism to the Clinton crime family and the CIA. (www. for the Schossau case.)
Why would the US government want to stop fraudulent religions. The US government has all the makings of a fraudulent religion. They have an economy rooted in myth. Capitalism is based on pure dogma, and our democracy is a superstition.
I am not as pessimistic as you but even if you were completely correct, do you not think that your most vulnerable and gullible deserve to have the fraudsters who pray on them brought to justice?
Our justice system asks you to be fair, and unbiased. Yet the justice system is extremely unfair, and biased. Our own government is guilty of the same fraudulent actions as religion, and many politicians are in bed with religion. How would justice work for the gullible when the deck is stacked against them? I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, so help me god. See the problem.
Keep you hand off the bible.
Sign the legal paperwork in admission to the court that you ar under oath subject to perjery charges.
All the rest is pomp and fervor.
The raise you right hand, lower your left hand -
put your right leg in -pull your right leg out do the dipsy doodle and turn your self about is nonsense.
Whoops, I meant put your right leg in -pull your right leg out do the Hokey Pokey and turn your self about.
These days, one can affirm instead of swearing on the bible.
"Yet the justice system is extremely unfair, and biased."
Such as when?
Thanks for affirming that DL.
I wonder how many have had adverse court actiions taken against them for not doing the hokey pokey.
I couldn't agree with you more Dennis. Like religion, if you attack capitalism they come down on you like a blasphemer
Unfortunately, many - if not most don't know that there are many variaties of capitalism.
Communism and Socialism for the ignorant self proclaimed capitalists don't know that roads, schools, police, the fire department among other things that are used in the 'commons.' are paid for and a benifit to everyone.
Har, Har, Har, I have a in-law who is retired military. A self proclaimed Capitalist. The Military is the largest socialistic government agency in the U.S.
He doesn't get understand that - or many things about economic therory.
He prays though and thinks his prayers are effective.
